Wholesale Energy Market

Proeléctrica has a diversified generation matrix, comprising thermal, solar, and hydroelectric sources. This energy mix has enabled us to offer reliable, flexible, and competitive generation in Colombia's wholesale energy market.

 

Through our plants connected to the National Interconnected System (SIN), we actively participate in the energy market by selling energy through bilateral contracts and providing firm energy service through reliability charges.

On-site generation

At Proeléctrica, we implement energy solutions that enable end users to self-generate their own energy, using plants designed based on their specific needs and operating on site.

Contamos con dos modalidades contractuales que se adaptan al perfil y objetivos de cada cliente:

 

• PPA (Power Purchase Agreement): Proeléctrica assumes responsibility for the investment, design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the power plant. The customer receives the energy supply at an agreed rate under a long-term contract.

• BOMT (Build, Operate, Maintain, Transfer): In addition to developing the entire project and operating it during the contract period, Proeléctrica transfers the assets to the customer at the end of the contract. The user pays a previously agreed monthly fee.

Representation of power plants in the wholesale energy market

At Proeléctrica, we represent commercial power plants in the wholesale energy market in Colombia. We handle technical, operational, and commercial management, including the representation of surpluses and active participation in the market.

 

Our goal is to help plant owners optimize the sale of the energy they generate, ensure regulatory compliance, and increase the profitability of their energy assets with the support of an expert team.

Sale of energy (PPA - Power Purchase Agreement)

We offer power purchase agreements as an efficient, secure and long-term solution for the supply of electricity. Through this contract, the client ensures access to a reliable source of energy (thermal, hydro and solar), at competitive prices and with stability over time, mitigating risks associated with the volatility of the electricity market.

 

The PPA establishes the conditions under which the buyer purchases electricity directly from the generator, either from conventional or renewable sources, with a term of up to 25 years, depending on the customer's needs.
