Since 2021, the La Esmeralda project has represented a step toward energy sustainability in the industrial sector. Located in Girón, Santander, this small-scale self-generation plant consists of 156 solar panels that allow Industrias La Esmeralda to produce its own clean energy through a PPA contract, generating economic and environmental benefits. Since it began operating, it has prevented the emission of more than 8.53 tons of CO₂ equivalent, reflecting the positive impact of integrating renewable sources into industrial processes.
This solution developed by Proeléctrica reaffirms the productive sector's commitment to energy transition, contributing efficiency, savings, and environmental responsibility to the country.
